From Ballet to Board Room to Book Launch

- an interesting life so far!

Alexia.jpg

Alexia loves to tell her story as it's not the usual trek up the corporate ladder.

Surprising to many in the business world, she started out as a professional ballet dancer! The literal blood, sweat and tears of the ballet world taught her many valuable lessons and life skills that she has leveraged throughout her professional career, including self-motivation, teamwork, discipline, grit and grace.

For the last thirty years, Alexia has enjoyed a very successful career as an international business lawyer, including over ten years acting as Chief Legal Officer (General Counsel) for a financial services company with over $25bn in managed assets, leading their global in-house law department of more than fifty team members located around the world and comprising lawyers, paralegals and IT professionals. During her tenure as GC, she transformed her team into a modern powerhouse of business aligned professionals, driving operational excellence and high levels of efficiency and productivity.

She is an accomplished strategist and thought leader among peers.  She is renowned for her strong focus on execution and high impact, creative problem solving.

Alexia is a poised, inspirational public speaker delivering insights via keynotes and panel participation around the world on topics including business strategy, alignment, leadership during change and uncertainty, keeping pace with industry disruptions and emerging technologies, regulatory compliance including high impact risks such as trade sanctions, ESG, cybersecurity & data privacy.

Despite her previous hectic schedule, Alexia mastered how to recapture her own time and value and redefined her whole work/life balance.  She then introduced her methods to her team with equal success.  All of these things paved the way for her becoming an industry leading author and inspired her to put her wisdom and experience on paper and start writing her pivotal book: Stealing Back™ TIME

In her book, Alexia shares her strategies with a much wider audience.  She tells the story of her journey as she hurtled towards overwhelm and burnout, her tipping point, what she learned from others, and how she combined several best practices into her own way of thinking and working that has now helped her and many others achieve more by doing less.

She appears regularly as a keynote speaker and leads workshops on a variety of topics including helping other leaders learn how they, too, can beat the hidden thieves of time and recalibrate their work/life balance.

Alexia has lived in the UK, Norway, Sweden and is now based in North Carolina, USA.  She enjoys the simple pleasures in life, loves taking leisurely walks with her dog and still dances ballet.
